Vince and his team of local people on kidney dialysis have initiated a great project. As volunteers they have joined forces with Kidney Health Australia to establish the ‘Big Red Kidney Bus Project’. Vince is a dialysis patient who along with other members of his team are on dialysis at the Latrobe Regional Hospital Dialysis Unit 5 hours a day for 3 days a week, receiving life-saving haemodialysis.
Haemodialysis uses an artificial kidney machine to remove waste and toxins from the blood when a person’s kidneys fail. The strict routine of dialysis often makes having a family holiday away from the hospital dialysis unit impossible. So they, with their partners and children miss out on something many Australians take for granted, a family holiday together.

Lilly's Gift for SMA Research has been established to raise funds for the awareness and research into spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).
SMA is a degenerative motor neuron disease that affects 1 in 6000 babies. The protein needed to build muscles in the body is not produced which causes the muscles to slowly degenerate. There is currently no cure or any proven treatments to help slow the progression of the disease. Diagnosed babies rarely live to see their first birthday.

One of the worst floods in Victoria’s history is inundating numerous towns across the state as already swollen rivers are unable to cope with torrential downpours, affecting thousands of properties in these areas.
