Lucy Henry and her assistance dog Lottie are walking the Point to Pinnacle- with the support and company of staff from Tasmania Fire Service – to raise money for the Royal Hobart Hospital Burns Unit. Lucy was treated by the Burns Unit after she suffered burns to 70% of her body. It is estimated that it costs close to $500,000 to treat a person just in the initial acute stage. A regular visitor to the outpatient clinic, Lucy is passionate in her quest to raise funds for the Royal Hobart Hospital Burns Unit

The Community Enterprise Foundation™ in partnership with the Salvation Army has launched The Haiti Earthquake Appeal following the devasting Earthquake that has caused major damage to the capital, Port-au-Prince and the surrounding area.
The loss of life has been significant, with estimates of over 100,000 people.
The earthquake has also left estimates of over 400,000 people homeless. Basic necessities, such as food and water are in demand as are medical supplies.
Aid agencies, including the Salvation Army, have all available emergency personnel in the area attending to the urgent life saving needs of the survivors.

There is currently no cure or any proven treatments to help slow the progression of the disease. Diagnosed babies rarely live to see their first birthday.
